Adilla vs Travel Agent

Hiya!

I just sorta recovered from a traumatic and depression inducing week. I'm not sure if I'm fully recovered yet so maybe I still need to see my personal therapist (24/7) and/or go shopping =p

Seriously though.

The last time I went shopping was last week (before the traumatic episode so I guess I still need to go as prophylaxis for post traumatic stress disorder). I went to all the usual shops I go to buy clothes but stepped out of the shops in vain. Nothing really caught my interest. :/ In the end I went to have a nice chocolate eclair and fruit juice. And I went into Penneys/Primark where I came out with a big bag of stuff ( yea well actually I wasn't carrying that big bag of stuff, it was the significant other but still, hihi). Trust Penneys for a shopping spree. I usually just buy socks and pyjamas at Penneys. That's what I did that day: bought a fleece wrap, a 3euro throw (it's nice and it's cheap!) and some legwarmers.

So the story with the Travel Agent. I booked my flight back to Malaysia in May.

Outbound: 9th December 06
Inbound: 6th January 07

When school reopened in September I found out there would be an exam on 11th December. So I decided to call the travel agents (almost 2 months ago) to change the outbound date to 14th December. They called me back a few days later confirming the change and I thought nothing of it. That is until last week.

Last week I decided to check out my itinerary so I could pass on the info to my parents so they can arrange picking me up at the airport etc. When I scrolled down I saw that on 14th December my flight would be departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Hmm. I thought to myself, "This must be a little misprint." So I decided to call the travel agent to confirm. I also called because I hadn't received my ticket yet either.

T.A: "Hi, thanks for calling *beep*, how may I help you?"

Me: "Hello, I'd like to confirm my itinerary with you, there seems to be a mistake. My booking reference is *beep*"
T.A: "Hi Miss Adilla Halim, you would be departing from Heathrow on 9th December and returning on 14th December from Kuala Lumpur. Is that right?"
Me: "No, I'm supposed to leave Heathrow on 14th December and returning on 6th January.."
T.A: "Ma'am, you called us on 29th September to change your flight right?"
Me: "Yea. I asked for a change from departing on 9th December to 14th December. I still want to leave Kuala Lumpur on 6th January."
T.A: "Ma'am, I'm afraid the booking on 6th January has been cancelled and you are travelling from Kuala Lumpur on 14th December."
Me: "But I want to LEAVE here on the 14th."
T.A: "Are you saying that you want to change your outbound date to 14th December?"
Me: "Yes, that's what I told you the last time I called."
T.A: "Ok, can I call you back in half an hour so I can sort this out?"
Me: "Ok. Bye."

2 days later.....still no callback. Grgr. I called them back on the 3rd day and had to go through basically the same thing with another operator. She said she'd call back because she needs to speak to the supervisor and the supervisor has to listen to the call I made in September to make sure it was their mistake. So I waited for the callback. 3 hours later still no call. I got agitated and called again. And almost lost it.

The operator was nice so I decided not to get angry with her. She explained that my predicament has been transfered to the customer relations officer and he's dealing with it. And she told me that he will definitely get back to me so I don't need to call them back as it would just make me uncomfortable (which was true, I was getting very frustrated). This time I did get a callback. Pfhew. And I got everything settled until the point where he said, "I'll need you to send back the original tickets so I can issue a new one. I can't issue a new ticket if I don't receive the old one back."

Hmm. But I have no old ticket. I hadn't received it yet, and told him as much.

"According to my records, the ticket was dispatched to you on 24th October 2006 by registered mail."
Uhm. But when I called the Shantalla house the other day they said there was no mail from *beep*. I got agitated all over again and explained I didn't get my ticket. I asked him about the possibility of it being lost or being returned to them. He said he'd check with the dispatchers and would call me back the next day. *sigh* So that night I couldn't sleep because I was so worried. Boohoo.

He called the next morning saying that the ticket had been sent to the address but there was no one to sign for it (as it was registered mail) and it was sent to the main postal office in Galway. It was there for 2 weeks and no one went to pick it up. ** I DIDN'T KNOW!!!!** Huhuhu. Luckily it was sent back to them so, finally, *FINALLYY!*, they could issue me with a new ticket and would send it to my current mailing address. *sigh of relief* [I got a little stressed just writing this post]....

Icing and cherry on top of a brilliant week: Menstrual Cramps. So I skipped wards for 2 days. I skipped wards and class last Weds. Stayed home all day, supposedly studying, but actually level upping Farris' alternate character in World of Warcraft. [I'm such a naab!] OMG it's addictive la! Stop playing already!

So that sums up my week. And this is prolly one of the longest posts since before summer. =p

Enjoy!
